Relation between GDP and Education Budget
Introduction
In this study we want to see the relationship between GDP and education budget. GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is the monetary value of goods and services of a country with in specified time period and education budget is the money spent by a coun
try on education with in that specified time. Calculation of GDP is of three types; uses income, expenditure and production and includes all government and private sectors. GDP play an important role for policy maker, investor and business strategies. It represents the growth and economic condition of a country. Education is the most important factor for a country which makes the future and present of a country. Improvements in the education have many factors out of which education budget is the most important factor for a country. Therefore, this study wants to know the effect of GDP on education budget.
Literature Review
Various studies have taken place on the GDP and some factors related to education. A study in Bangladesh represent that Education expenditure and GDP have a nice relationship from 1976 to 2003 (Islam et al. 2007). Expenditure of public on education promotes the Moroccan and Tunisian GDP (Ifa and Guetat, 2018). Some other recent work is also done on GDP with different factors (Huang and Cheng, 2010; Khodabakhshi, 2011; Rahman, 2011).
Data
Data is taken from the site “https://datahub.io/core/usa-education-budget-analysis” . It has information on the GDP and education budget from 1976 to 2016. USA take the calculation on GDP annually. Some countries take this information quarterly. In this data set information on the budget is also given annually. Both the variables are measured in million dollars. Following is the table of data.
