Introduction
The analysis and determination of the economy of a specific region is known as Macroeconomics. The events that have been evident in the economy of a region and its
eventual study are also an important fact of the microeconomics. These events generally constitute the various factors including the goods and the amount of services that are beared by a specific country of choice. Different factors are also a part of the factors. These include the employment rate, the unemployment rate and the exchange rate. The other factors include the inflation rates that determine the macroeconomic condition of the country. The purchasing power of the citizens is also included as a part of the macroeconomic status of the country. Adam Smith has been one of the prime pioneers of the macroeconomic study in the world. The classical economics is a primary branch of the study of the macroeconomic factors in the country. The laissez free economy has been sustained by the Keynesian ec0onomists. On the other hand, the other postulates of the thoughts of the Keynesian economics are determined by the Monetarism. This postulate has been developed and initiated by Milton Friedman. The great depression’s alternative theories have been sequentially developed by Milton Friedman which was markedly different from the theories suggested by Adam Smith. Therefore, the study of different factors is essential in order to understand the overall development of macroeconomic conditions.
Critically analysing the macroeconomic indicators
The macroeconomic indicators in the UK are:
GDP Growth
Every quarter in the UK, the ONS is known to issue three releases. The releases include a preliminary first estimate. The preliminary estimate is followed by the second step known as the revised second estimate. The final estimate is the last step in this process. The prolong three-step release gives details about the varied changes in the GDP that are administered quarterly.
Labour Market Statistics
The ONS's LMS report in the UK includes reports on different aspects of net change in employment and unemployment rate. The economic inactivity and claimant count also forms an important proportion of the report. Others include average weekly earnings, labour productivity, and vacancies. The hefty estimates are derived from the Labour Force Survey UK.
CPI Inflation Indicator
The CPI index is, and the PPI Index measures the inflation rate at the consumer-producer price index. The construction includes comparing the changes in price baskets of goods and services in a specific period of time. The calculations based on selecting a base year are a task that involves confusion (Smalter Hall & Cook, 2017).
Balance of Payments
The Office for National Statistics summarises the Balance of Payments report for the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. The breakdown of BoP into currency account, capital account and financial account gives a detailed macroeconomic analysis. It included information on the UK traded goods and services.
Retail Sales
The ONS presents the quarterly retail sales activity report. The report showcases fluctuations over a monthly reading associated with the sales. Keeping track of the sale activities is a hefty task for the country as a whole. The information has been presented after surveying 5000 retailers.
Household Expenditures
The Consumer Trend report provides the world with the household expenditure evident in the UK. The report is based on current prices and volume terms. The tricky task involved in presenting the report is calculating after adjusting the prices for inflation. The macroeconomic indicator shows households' contribution to economic growth (Smalter Hall & Cook, 2017).
Index of Production
The Index of Production gives the quarterly reports for the production industries within the UK. The index accounts for approximately 15% of annual GDP within the country. The Index of Production is considered to be one of the earliest indexes of growth. It measures the output of different sectors including manufacturing and mining. Quarrying and energy supply sectors are the other sectors associated.
GfK Consumer Confidence
The Consumer Climate of Europe is primarily based in the UK and accounts to analyse their findings termed as GfK Consumer Confidence. It is a form of a survey or report. The survey is conducted by the research firm named GfK. Gathering information from all the European is a task involving massive labour.
Halifax House Price Index
The price index is used to calculate standardised house prices. It is the UK's longest-running house price series. It included data for the entire nation starting from January 1983 to the present. It calculates the average annualised change in the latest three months.
Public Sector Expenditure and Debt
The public sector information involves data on public sector receipts and investments. Borrowings and monthly reports on debt are also a part of it. The Public Sector Finances publish the reports.
Evaluation of the chosen sector’s
