B3140: Recreating the City: Events and Regeneration Assessment Pack (2017/18) ASSESSMENT 1 Assessment Question: Essay Critically discuss whether events as both an enhancer of city image and an aid to tourism development can, in fact, be utilised to foster effective long-term regeneration in cities. Instructions: Sources Students should use a minimum of 15 reliable academic sources. This can comprise, for example, academic journal articles (online and print), academic books, government reports and local authority reports. One of them should be Events and Urban Regeneration textbook by Andrew Smith. The use of unreliable sources is not permitted. Students may refer to other reliable internet based or newspaper sources but these will not be considered as part of the ‘15 academic sources’.
