Correlational Research

Descriptive research methods are nonexperimental methods that are used to acquire information about a phenomenon or to describe the relationship between two or more phenomena. Nonexperimental methods are different from experimental methods in that they do not involve the manipulation of variables or the modification of the situation under investigation. Explain the purpose of correlational research and develop three research examples of when a correlational study would be required. Pertaining to the examples you provided, what type of information would the data/results provide and what would the proposed strength of the associations be? Discuss some potential third variables that could be responsible for the relationships between the variables and how those could be threats to internal validity. Post should be at least 300 words.

Correlational Research
Correlational Research is basically a non experimental research type where i
n the measurement of 2 variables is done by the researcher along with assessment of the correlation (statistical relationship) between the variables with no or little effort towards controlling of extraneous variables (Shuttleworth & Wilson, 2008). Several reasons made researchers interested towards statistical relationship towards conduct of correlational study instead of an experiment. These do help in acquiring the information regarding a phenomenon or towards getting description of relationship between 2 or more phenomenon. The core difference between experimental and non experimental methods is that non experimental ones do not offer any variables manipulation or situation modification under the investigation. Main purpose of...
