Create an Art Walk PosterYou are a commercial graphic artist. You were commissioned by the local Art Festival Groupto create a design for a poster that will promote their annual arts walk festival. Your clienthas indicated that they would like the poster style to be Art Nouveau, but that the content isup to you.Remember you are trying to catch people’s attention with the poster and get theminterested in attending the event. Ignore your desire to make a simple, graphic poster. Inour class we want to show off our skills so go with a more narrative scene with lots ofdrawn, complex elements. Your color scheme should be pleasing and attention-grabbing.(Review the lecture on color and choose a color SCHEME.) Remember that white space (orblank space) can be your friend and be another element to use in the composition. Utilizetypography that captures the “mood” you want to create. Hand letter part of your posterfor a unique Art Nouveau look!Your poster should be in the style or inspired by Art Nouveau. Brainstorm ideas first. Jotthem down and do thumbnails before beginning on the computer. Go over some of our pastlectures or check out links on the Blackboard site for ideas and pointers. You will besubmitting your rough sketch as a homework assignment.( I n s t r u c t i o n s )You will be graded on following – directions, professional artboard, and your design(aesthetic). This is your culminating Illustrator project so show me what you’ve learned.Be creative and put some effort into this and your grade will reflect that. If you do the bareminimum, your grade will reflect that too. The point of this assignment is to demonstrateyour skills in Illustrator. If you do a really complete, technically clean, and well-drawnproject, you will have demonstrated a distinguished level of skill.If you want to import an image that you’ve hand drawn and use the Live Trace tool, that isfine. Tracing it and coloring it makes it qualify for one of your illustrations. You may nothand draw the entire poster and Live Trace it, however. No Photoshopped images ordownloaded images, as well. All drawings must be done in Illustrator. Symbols andsimple shapes can count as ONE of your illustrations.The design is entirely up to you but it must be Art Nouveau in look (to appease your“client”). Each poster must contain the following information:✓ Lawrence Art Festival✓ Date: October 26, 2016✓ Time: 2-8 p.m.✓ Location: Main Street✓ At least TEN illustrations (drawn completely by you—no clip art or imported images)These must all be different illustrations, you can’t repeat a star over and over again.The more complex your drawings, the higher your score! Take your time and makethis look good! Layer shapes to build up a complex element.Technical Requirements: Poster is to be 11x17. Poster is to be created in Illustrator (exclusively)
