In information the prosecutor charges a defendant of crime, and when the defendant is charged

indictment. A criminal case basically starts with an indictment or information, it states that a
person committed a crime. when a lawyer (assistant U.S. attorney, prosecutor, U.S. attorney) of
the US government presents proper evidence to the jury, it indicates that the person has
committed a crime, according to the government. The lawyer tries to prove the grand jury that
there is full evidence to prove that the person has committed the crime, so that the person should
be the accused....
