  You will search recent newspaper headlines (over the past five years) for articles that relate to education issues for ELLs (may include instruction, programs, materials, assessment practices, accountability measures, etc.). You will selectthreearticles and connect what you have read with laws related to ELLs that you have read about in your assigned reading and which we have covered in the “Legal Foundations” module in class.

  ), complete the following for each current event article (you will do this for each of the 3 articles):
  
  
  1. Choose one of the ELL-related laws we have discussed in class. Summarize the law, highlighting the importance in regards to the education of ELLs.
  
  
  2. Summarize the current event article, highlighting the importance in regards to the education of ELLs (and provide an accurate APA citation).
  
  
  3. Discuss how the law relates to your current event (ie. Explain how it supports/provides foundation/guides what occurred in your current event article; how the law protects ELLs; issues with implementation, etc.
