Introduction
    Ibn Khaldun’s theory of Asabiyya is based on the concept of distribution of common ancestry and being restricted within a specific group of members. In his theory of Asabiyya, Ibn Khaldun describes the process by which the sovereign political power comes into formation, the way they grow and acquire their strengths and are defeated and conquered by other sovereign powers.
Analysis
    According to Ibn Khaldun, Asabiyya is a power which protect the people of the same communities by shielding one another at any cost by either tactical planning or fighting. Thus, the theory of Asabiyya was significant in the context of Islamic politics after the demise of Prophet in 11/632. There were conflicts and confusion over who would become the political successor. There were differing viewpoint within the Muslim groups.
