Australia University has been noticing a severe decline of academics among the students of university. This is a matter of serious concern. The failure of academics is the result of excessive addiction towards social media. The social media is creating anxiety, stress and distractions among the students.

Thus, the problem statement is the health issues caused among the students due to social media. In this research study, the topic, which has been the main concern, is how the social media has been adversely affecting the students and the university as a whole.
The main sufferer is tertiary education. For chalking out good results for this research study, positivism philosophy has been taken into consideration. The approach, which has been taken, is into view for the collection of information in order to carry out a research on the ill effects of social media is the deductive approach. This is concerned with a development of the hypothesis, which has been based in the existing theory. This has been designed as a research strategy in order to test the hypothesis, which has actually been vital.
Descriptive research design, aims to describe accurately and systematically the population, situation or phenomenon. The research design has been used in order for the investigation for more variables. Unlike in experimental research, the researcher usually has control over the manipulation of the variables and one observes and measures them. In this case, study this design helps in the elaboration of the advantages and the features, which stands right for the topic. This research helps in the inclusion of the research material, which has been published in the research reports and similar documents, which have been used for the purpose of the study.
Introduction
Background of Study
The study implies health effects on social media on Australian University students and Australian Universities. Social media is a platform that connects every individual with the world. The first advent of social media was in 1997. Since then, the craze and obsession about social media has not lessened a bit. As per the report, the social media has created a huge damage to the health of the students. This is the age of technology and globalisation (Cunningham & Craig, 2017). Every person is very much addicted to social media. Irrespective of the age and the preferences, people are hooked on social media.
However, the trends of social media are more relevant among the students (ElQadi et al., 2017). The students are very much addicted to social media and are always hooked on social media. Social media makes the world a smaller place. It makes connectivity across the world as thorough social media as everyone can have a grip of the whole world. Social media has created a huge impact positively on the people. However, as every coin has its opposite side. Social media, also, leaves a negative impact on the students as well.
The negative impact is on the health of the students. The students, who are addicted to social media, tend to lose their healthy lifestyles because of stress and distractions issues (Highfield & Leaver, 2016). This is going to leave a bad impact on the university students, as their studies would be neglected. The universities tend to lose the concentration of the students because of the impacts of social media. Through this research, the researchers have used the distraction faced by the students of Australian university.

That is the reason; social media has earned its popularity (Khamis, Ang & Welling, 2017).
The impact of social media is very high especially on the students of the university. Social media has opened them a fancy world where they can explore almost everything about this world. Social media creates a sense of awe among the students. This study is significant as this study portrays the problems of recent age. Due to over addiction of social media, the students get to face various problems like the anxiety issues and the stress issues. The researchers try to show that how social media addiction has created a void in the minds of the students of university (Walsh & Walsh, 2019).
Problem Statement

Methodology
Research Philosophy
As mentioned by Strauss (2018), positivism is a philosophical theory, which states that certain knowledge is actually based upon the natural phenomena and their properties and relations. The information of this philosophy is actually derived from the sensory experience and the information has been interpreted through reason and logic. Positivism holds valid opinions and knowledge for the stressing on the reasons of study for the ill impacts of the social media on the individuals of the university. Many kinds of empirical evidence have been received from the senses of empirical evidence.
Research Approach
Deductive here in this concept is applicable enough as it means reasoning from the particular to the general circumstances (Bergdahl, Ternestedt, Berterö & Andershed, 2019). This has been mainly used here as it helps to explain the causal relationships between the concepts and the variables. This is led to the measurement of the concepts quantitatively. This equally led to the generalization of the research findings largely.
Research Design
The descriptive design has been needed for the identification of the characteristics, frequencies, trends and the correlations and the categories (Shealy et al. 2018).This design helps in the gathering of the large amount of data, which is to be analysed, by frequencies, averages and the patterns. This is used for the gathering of opinions and the topics of the ill health of the social media and terming its approaches.
Data Collection Strategy
Secondary research is being used in the research study, which helps in the involvement of using already existing data (Quinlan, Babin, Carr & Griffin, 2019). The existing data in this kind of research study is being summarized and collected in order to increment the overall effectiveness of research.
In this, secondary research, there are the usages of the news, articles, review articles and the Meta analyses for the gauging of the information for the purposes of the study. This has...
