Introduction
In this paper it will be discussed about how diversity in our culture contrasts with cause and effect. Prejudice is the topic of choice. Our society is diverse in terms of age, gender, colour, ethnicity, religion, and others. This essay has emphasized some of the causes and/or impacts of these issues.
Thesis statement
Ageism and sexism both involve interpersonal reliance and social status inequalities. Some biases are shared throughout cultures, while others are more flexible and culture-specific. This research backs up the ubiquitous ambivalent (mixed) preconceptions about gender and age that exist throughout cultures. While some prejudices are more flexible and culturally particular than others (ethnicity, race, religion).
Background
The word "universal" can be harmful. American study on bias appeared to believe that it’s recently found principles were universal during the majority of the 20th century (Rowatt, & Al-Kire, 2021). Universalism is indicated by its absence, or at the very least is not questioned. It took some time for American bias research as a field to consider culture. In order to better understand European cultural situations, European social psychology developed its own models.
Stereotyping based on social class may share cultural traits and be a solution to universal problems, but it is not widespread within families. In this study, ethnicity and racial preconceptions are shown to vary greatly among cultures. This article contrasts more culturally changeable stereotype material with more virtually universal stereotype content (race, ethnicity, religion).
