WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT2 WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT Table of contents Proposal for Final Project3 Proposal for Final Project I want to study the influence of jazz music on American civil rights movements in the 20th century and make a little video documentary about it for my final project. The documentary, which should last 8 to 10 minutes, will explore how jazz was a potent force for social and political transformation. Jazz was a major influence on the civil rights movement and the fight against racial inequality, which is why I am so interested in this subject. Understanding the cultural and historical setting in which jazz flourished and how it evolved to be an outlet for African American artists and activists is vital, in my opinion. Through this initiative, I hope to raise awareness of the role jazz musicians have had in promoting social awareness and fighting for equality. For this project, I have two objectives. First, I want to look at how jazz and the civil rights movement is related, highlighting how jazz artists used their artistic expression to share their stories and advance social justice. Second, I want to draw attention to how jazz has influenced musicians of later generations and how it is still relevant as a source of motivation and empowerment. I will perform in-depth analysis to reach these objectives utilizing a range of resources, including academic books, journals, and interviews with jazz artists and historians. In order to give a visual and audio experience that enhances the narrative, I will also use archived film and recordings. By working on this project, I intend to further knowledge of jazz history and the role it played in many social and political movements. In addition, I want to encourage audiences to see how music has the ability to improve lives and promote harmony.
