    The ABI model of trust formulated by Dr. Roger Mayer is a structure which provides an in-depth understanding
regarding the three factors which play a highly significant role in the creation of trust. The three factors that are involved here, are Abilities, Benevolence and Integrity. When an individual finds these elements in another individual, it greatly enhances the trustworthiness of the other. For instance, if an employee possesses a number of qualities and skills, expresses benevolence and shows integrity in terms of honesty towards work then he/she will be considered to be trustworthy by the employer. However, if the employee fails to show these abilities and qualities in the workplace then it will be extremely difficult for the employer to trust the employee. As a result of this, the reputation of the employee can get hampered in the workplace. In addition to that, there is a chance that the employee will miss out on a number of opportunities, which will hinder the growth of the employee.
    The presence of the three above-mentioned factors, that is, abilities, benevolence and integrity increase the trustor’s propensity to trust another individual. As a result of being capable of trusting another individual, the risk taking capability increases to a great extent. This is because, if a person trusts another individual, it is only then that the person will be capable of taking risks in that particular relationship. If an individual is capable of taking risk in a workplace relationship, then it will result in a number of positive outcomes.
Situation
A Chinese company is planning to extend itself to the new United States market. For this specific purpose, an HR manager is required who is well versed in English language and can accustom and adjust to the changing workplace environment as well as geographical location. The manager will receive certain benefits from the organisation.
