Assignment #1: Transforming Stress to Wellness Review the Instructions and Marking Rubric before you start the assignment. Instructions: You now have introductory knowledge of basic human motivation and behavior, stress management, problem-solving and wellness. Using this knowledge and additional research, you will apply these concepts to explore how stress may be positively transformed to a higher state of wellness or well-being.   In pairs, You will research a notable person of interest, identify stressors that they have dealt with (or currently deal with), how these stressors impact this person's everyday life and wellness, and what actions they take to manage their stressors.   As we know, many notable people do not manage stress constructively, choosing to use negative coping techniques or defence mechanisms instead (perhaps this is how they became notable!). This contrast may be an appropriate place you may wish to consider starting at. The key is to explore how this person currently manages their stress proactively which has led them to model well-being or to be on the journey  to a higher state of well-being/wellness. Directions: 1. With you partner decide which outcome will best reveal the result of your research: a. Essay with an introduction and conclusion (not more than 1500 words) - may contain tables or worksheets. b. Other – If you have an alternative idea please email your instructor for approval. 2. Select and research a notable person of interest (should be well-known and easy to research). Advise your instructor who this person is (there may be a need to avoid duplication or to educate your instructor who the person is, if they are not well-known).
