The Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) is defined as a standardized index and it is purely based on observed sea level pressure differences between Tahiti and Darwin, Australia. It is normally referred as the irregular variations in temperature of the surface of the tropical eastern Pacific Ocean and in air surface pressure in the tropical western Pacific. From the box plot of Darwin, we see that the observed sea level pressure is less during the month of January, February, March, October, November and December. Thus, in these six months, pressure is very low and therefore, the tourists can avoid vising Darwin a bit in these months. The ideal time to visit Darwin is April and September
