In the second half of the semester, the most interesting topic to me in the human resources subject was fixed and varia
ble pay and its impact on employee motivation by the mean of incentivization. I found this interesting as this is one motivating factor that impacts directly and its effect can be measured too clearly. Understanding the connection between money and motivation is crucial for developing successful financial incentive strategies. The monthly wage that businesses promise their employees in exchange for their services is known as fixed pay. It comprises base income as well as any supplementary benefits, such as housing, child care, or transportation. No matter how many hours are worked or how well an individual performs, the fixed salary remains the same. Variable pay is the compensation given to an employee by an employer for their contribution to the expansion and success of the company. It is sometimes referred to as performance-based remuneration. Higher-level wants, as well as intrinsic and extrinsic needs, must all be met by a job. Employees that receive high pay feel more satisfied with their work and are motivated to work more (especially when compensation is directly related to job performance).
