Honeybees provide one of the most important ecosystem services:pollination - and they do this for free! We are experiencing huge losses in pollinator populations throughout the United States and the rest of the world. The decline is so great that many farmers now must import European honeybees to pollinate crops. In 2006, an emerging issue called Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) caused massive declines in beehives. These declines are still a problem today.Respond to the following prompts in your initial post this week:1. What is Colony Collapse Disorder and what are the prevailing hypotheses for what causes CCD? 2. What is being done to help pollinators in the United States or other countries? Consider laws, initiatives, scientific research, measures by organizations, and anything else you might wish to include!3. What can an individual do to help bees and other pollinators in their local area?Cite your sources appropriately.

However, as it is known, a beehive cannot survive in the absence of worker bees, as a result of which, with the passage of time, the bee hives die. The cumulative effect of all these incidents which results in the loss of a bee colony is known as Colony Collapse Disorder.
There are a number of prevailing hypotheses as to the causes behind the phenomenon of Colony Collapse Disorder. The multiple causes are as follows:
