The term virtual assistance is commonly known as digital assistance or sometimes it is also known as AI assistance. Actually these are the programs which works on natural voice based commands and complete the tasks based on voice commands. These
tasks include playing music, receiving phone calls and many more. The virtual assistance comes in different types like task oriented, subject oriented and device oriented. The application of virtual assistance mostly works on the cloud concept and requires essential internet connection for completing the tasks. The Google assistant, Cortana, Apple devices (Siri) are the common examples of virtual assistance. The popularity of virtual assistance devices is increasing these days and inclusion of big brand companies like Google, Apple etc. shows its importance in future. The start operation of this virtual assistance is based on the specific voice command. The AI platform developed in the virtual assistance application involves speech recognition and different AI algorithms for completing the tasks. The virtual assistance provides so many different capabilities and IoT involvement with these devices can make easy life style for humans. The use of virtual assistant has the privacy issues as personal data giving voice command is stored on cloud by these applications. Even privacy policies are developed by organizations but there is still huge scope of future research in it.
