Ms. Shikha, who was born in 1950, presents us with a distinctive perspective on diversity as someone who has experienced major changes in societal norms relating to dive
rsity. She attended a segregated school until the age of 12 while growing up in a rural area of the United States, which surely influenced how she perceived race and diversity. She noticed a significant shift in societal norms regarding gender and racial equality as she became older. Through the lens of Ms. Elizabeth's experiences, we can examine the improvements that have been made towards attaining true equality as well as the remainder of the work that needs to be done.

Ms. Shikha has also had experience working in different industries and interacting with people from multiple backgrounds. As a result of this, she has been able to comprehend the significance of variety and inclusion in both personal and professional contexts. Her guidance can improve our understanding of the difficulties that people from various cultures might encounter and show us how to make the world a more welcoming place for everyone.

In your opinion, how has society's perception of gender evolved?

How can we achieve gender equality?

She acknowledges that there are still a lot of issues that women deal with, like the gender pay gap and job discrimination (CDC and Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity Data). Ms. Shikha recommends encouraging diversity and inclusivity, putting policies in place that address gender disparities, and continuing to fight for gender equality on both an individual and institutional level to achieve gender equality.

When talking about gender diversity, Ms. Shikha also stressed the significance of intersectionality, acknowledging the various effects that identities like race and sexual orientation have on people. She emphasised the significance of taking these intersectionalities into account and dealing with them as we work to achieve gender equality.
