Ms. Shikha, who was born in 1950, presents us with a distinctive perspective on diversity as someone who has experienced major changes in societal norms relating to diversity. She attended a segregated school until the age of 12 while growing up in a rural area of the United States, which surely influenced how she perceived race and diversity. She noticed a significant shift in societal norms regarding gender and racial equality as she became older. Through the lens of Ms. Elizabeth's experiences, we can examine the improvements that have been made towards attaining true equality as well as the remainder of the work that needs to be done.
