In this module, you learned about beam characteristics and the different factors that can affect the beam. For this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation that a radiologic technology instructor could use to explain beam characteristics to their class. Write the slide content using language that would be appropriate for a radiologic technology student audience.


Your PowerPoint presentation will need to:



  1. Contain 10-15 slides (not including the Title and References slides).


  2. Be written using proper spelling/grammar and at a level that would be appropriate for a radiologic technology student audience.


  3. Describe what the terms "quantity" and "quality" mean when referring to an x-ray beam.


  4. Explain the factors that affect quantity and quality:


    • Identify the factors

    • Explain how the factors affect the beam quantity/quality

    • If applicable, describe what type of relationship exists between each factor and quality/quantity (e.g., direct, indirect, proportional, etc.)



  5. Explain the difference between primary beam, remnant radiation, and attenuation.


  6. Identify the factors that can affect the primary beam, remnant radiation, and attenuation.


  7. Include a References slide containing APA formatted citations for any sources you used.
