Instructional design theory is concerned with providing guidelines to organize appropriate pedagogical scenarios to achieve instructional goals. Instructional design frameworks are developed to enrich the learning experiences and helps in identifying gaps in skills, attitudes and knowledge of employees. The complete process of instructional design includes eight steps that start with analyzing requirements, identifying learning objectives, establish the design, creating a storyboard, developing prototype as well as training and lastly delivering training, along with evaluating the impact.
As mentioned by Ramlatchan et al. (2019), it is important to analyze the needs when designing instructional design as it includes target audience, problem, current state, training recommendations and desired outcomes. It helps in building effective instructional design experience. The various learning theories and instructional design models are used to achieve instructional goals and performance objectives. When implementing instructional deign theory, one needs to keep few things in mind.
