I am working in retail pharmacy shop where my job responsibility includes dealing with customers and give the medicine they demand and get cash from them. People from different ages and background come to the shop and purchase medicines. I have observed in few last months that old age people buy more medicine than younger one. Here, old age persons are those having age more than 55 years and the rest are classified as young age people. So, here my research question is – whether there is a significant difference in Average monthly expenditure on medicines by old age person and younger one?
To proceed with finding the answer of this research question, the Null and Alternate hypothesis are as follows –
H0 :     There is no significant different between the average expenditure on medicine by     old age person and younger one.
H1 :    Thereis a significant difference different between the average expenditure on     medicine by old age person and younger one.
                        or,
H0 :    Avg. Monthly Expenditureold – Avg. Monthly Expenditureyoung = 0
H1 :     Avg. Monthly Expenditureold – Avg. Monthly Expenditureyoung ≠ 0
The data would be collected by recording the money spent by old age people...
