Dependent and Independent Variables

Variables in the research of this hypothesis can be relative to the assessment design, survey application, and research process (Cozby & Bates, 2017). The dependent variables will be relative to the level of Goleman’s taxonomy (2018) and the value at which each subject is measured. The variables for EI measurement will stem from scores relative to levels of:

  1. Neuroticism

  2. Extroversion

  3. Openness to Experience

  4. Agreeableness

  5. Conscientiousness

With the hypothesis of:

EI assessments will help predict and identify which leaders will demonstrate successful modern leadership tactics synonymous with authentic and servant leadership.

  • The dependent variable will relate to each of the five-factor emotional constraintsas measured.

  • The independent variable will be the collection point of each item as it relates to EI assessments (ex. MBTI vs.ESCI vs. MBS assessments

  • The possible third (extraneous) variable will be relative to the position sought or expected of the individual

More dependent variables will be relative to initial position of employment when data is captured, and what level of employment is expected from the vantage of both the candidate and employer.

Independent variables will be how the EI levels are collected and from which specific assessment. With a control group receiving self-assessments on-line, and outliers receiving variance-based assessments will offer variable data points from which to surmise supporting facets.

Nominal factors will be show supporting character in the applicants allying for the assessments and determine if they are specific to the data points for proposed leadership potential within the bounds of the research. The ordinal scale will ascertain from an experience-based standpoint which candidate will show the most promise for KNOWN leadership facets based on ability and trait-based theory and SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis (Northouse, 2018). The research will outline intervals at different stages of career tracks where promise of leadership development is measured via meta-analysis of variable EI testing and data collection. Ratio and matrix-based data points of those scoring highest for abilities and traits-based skills will be compared in analysis and coefficients to present stabilized variables and assist in answering the hypothesis.

Dependent and Independent Variables

Based on what Cozby & Bates, 2017 stated that the variables of the hypothesis are all relative based upon the survey application, design, and how the hypothesis is researched. The variables of measurement are:

  1. Neuroticism

  2. Extroversion

  3. Openness to Experience

  4. Agreeableness

  5. Conscientiousness

The hypothesis of my research being the more mentally healthy the leadership team is during the team of COVID the less likely the company will see turnover and unhappy employees.

  • The dependent variable will be how the manager handles their own mental health and the environment it creates at the job.

  • The independent variable is the collection of data from several different technology companies.

  • The last possible variable is it the employee is seeking a promotion or salary raise, which might affect or skew the general outcome of the results.

Level of employment at the time the data is collected and level of employment could also be dependent.

Independent is how the data is collected, in this case, the surveys and interviews. The surveys will be self-serving.

Nominal factors will be on the survey when they are asked to rate certain aspects of the job, satisfaction, and so on. There will be two different groups the baseline of pre-COVID compared to the post COVID. In order to extract the most accurate information about the study.

Hi James
Regarding this research, variables could be related to survey application, research proces
s as well as assessment design (Cozby & Bates, 2017). Explanation of dependent and independent variables in specific hypothesis is well elaborated by you. Separately mentioning the fact that dependent variables will relate to taxonomy of Goleman along with value of measurement at each of the subject makes it even clearer. Further, EI measurement variables stemming from scores are in relation to levels of Extroversion, neuroticism, agreeableness, openness to experience and Conscientiousness. But relative’s of independent variables is being missed out. However, very appropriately, hypothesis along with dependent, independent and the extraneous variable is being detailed out. It would have been even better if the extraneous variable was also explained before mentioning it. Importance of control group to receive self assessments so as support facets is also being mentioned....
