ITECH 7415 – MTECH PROJECT Assessment Task 4 - Sprint Retrospective (Percentage: 2%, End of Sprint) Weeks 6, 9, &12 (Total – 6%) At the end of each sprint, every student is expected to submit a retrospective in his/her individual Mahara ePortfolio page created for the project. The retrospective should be a video recording (no more than 5 minutes) embedded as a media file in the portfolio. Students are welcome to attach documents to support retrospectives. Reflections are expected to cover both team and individual components of the project: (a) Team Component (1 Mark) This is a summary of what happened in a Sprint. For example: •The date the sprint started and the date it ended •Who was in the team (including how many hours each person worked) •Which user stories were in the sprint backlog (including estimate and completion status) •Evidence of work done in the sprint (b) Individual Component (1 Mark) Individual component should include personal tasks and learning during the Sprint and should provide answers to the following questions: •What did I accomplish in the past sprint? •How did I apply stream specific knowledge to my project? •What did I learn from in the past sprint? •What could have gone better in the sprint? The actual usage of the device would be in rural areas where in continuous monitoring of under ground water is essential for daily use and irrigation purposes. ACCOMPLISHMENTS TILL DATE Dividing the project into three sprints. The first sprint covered the research on the hardware required. Synchronising all the hardware components will be the second sprint. And finally writing the code which would send the data on to the server. Sprint 1 – Team position Abdul Basith is researching on the gauges and sensors. Abdul Qadeer is researching on power source. Maqdoom Ali is researching the microcontroller. Myself is working on the GSM module. I have been researching on GSM module. Knowledge of which chip or circuit can be used to establish communication between a device or a computing machine.  After enough research I came to conclusion, SIM900A GSM module would be best solution to our requirement. Sprint 1- My position Sprint 1- My position As per the client requirements this system will be mostly employed in the rural/regional areas to monitor the water level under the ground. Why GSM? Any alternative(CDMA) SIM900A Advantages Support wide range of frequencies. Supports integration with RS232 cable. Can be interfaced to system using USB cables. Input voltage varies from 5v to 30v. Very less weight in few grams. Provided with SIM holder and SMA antenna connector. Programmable with AT commands. Application of Stream specific knowledge Project time management. Project cost management. My reflection Learned various type of GSM module. Team work It was challenging to find the correct GSM module.
