The company specialises in developing insightful and dynamic dashboards for their clients. Todd has requested you to come up with an interactive business dashboard for one of their clients, UniSelect – a qualified international education counsellor business. Education Consultants at UniSelect help prospective students to sort through their options to find the right education institution and course for them once students explain to them what kind of institution they are looking for. Thus, they are expected to have an excellent knowledge of reputable university profiles in the world and to keep abreast of any changes in the university ranking landscape. In the memo sent to the analytics team via SLACK (see next page), Todd has provided some guidelines on how to tackle the task. In particular, you are expected to explore the 2020-2019-QS-World-University-Rankings dataset and develop an interactive dashboard using Tableau Desktop software. Then, you should convey your results as an e- portfolio comprised of a process component and a solution component via WordPress platform. MIS771 - Descriptive Analytics and Visualisation Page 3 of 9 Dataset (accessible via 2020-2019-QS-World-University-Rankings.xlsx file) The Excel file contains rankings of 1000+ universities for the years 2019 and 2020 based on 6 key factors: 1. Academic Reputation, 2. Employer Reputation, 3. Faculty to Student Ratio, 4. Number of citations per faculty 5. International Faculty, 6. International Students. Data description is available from the Var_Description worksheet in the Excel file. Hint: You may add additional statistical analysis and/or supporting data of your own (additional Latitude/Longitude data, web links etc.). However, the focus of the assignment should be on the core data provided in the dataset. You are required to complete all three parts. A) Process Component You are required to complete this section by producing four pre-set web pages under the process menu. Content presented here should be written in a ‘professional’ language and must cover the following four aspects: 1) Describe the audience for your Data Visualisation (to be written under AUDIENCE page) Describe the audience for the Data Visualisation you intend to create. This section should include a general description of the persona, questions they want to be answered, actions/outcomes your dashboard will be supporting, and the feeling you would like to convey. 2) Identify Data Elements (to be written under DATA ELEMENTS page) Using what you have learnt in the lectures and tutorials, first describe each column in the dataset (note: you should describe all columns regardless of whether you will ultimately use them in your visualisation or not). Then classify the data (for example, Categorical, Numerical: Discrete, Continuous / Scales of measurements: Nominal, Ordinal, Interval and Ratio / Time/Date, Location). 3) Describe at a high level what types of charts you might use to display the data. (to be written under THE RIGHT FIT page) Based on the data types you described earlier in this section, along with the objectives of the persona you described, describe what charts and visualisations you think might work well to communicate the information. 4) Finally, describe any data ethics considerations with the data you intend to use. (to be written under ETHICS page) Describe any considerations you think you should keep in mind while developing and sharing your visualisation. Note: While adding content, images, and tables are allowed under these sections (web pages), students are strictly prohibited from moving web page locations, renaming web pages or adding new pages under the PROCESS component. MIS771 - Descriptive Analytics and Visualisation Page 6 of 9 B) Solution Component Under the SOLUTION component (WordPress web page), you are expected to have two deliverables, namely, Live Dashboard and Story Telling. First using the skills, you have developed in the tutorial sessions (and leveraging any additional training and online support provided by Tableau Inc.) develop an interactive dashboard using Tableau Desktop. Then, you should embed your interactive dashboard on the Live Dashboard web page. Note: Instructions on how to retrieve the embed code and the import interactive dashboard to WordPress websites is available in the WordPress Instruction Manual. Under the Story Telling web page, you are expected to capture and describe various screenshots of your interactive dashboard developed using Tableau Desktop. Your descriptions, comments, or annotations of the interactive dashboard should detail how you

A) REVIEWING THE DATA
The dataset provided by UniSelect for the current analysis is about the various educational Intuitions’ rankings of around 1000+ counts for the years 2019 and the year 2020. The overall ranking of the various educational institutions spread across different countries of the world is basically based on the combined ranking of the Six key factors. These are as follows –

2. Employer Reputation
3. Faculty to Student Ratio
4. Number of citations per faculty
5. International Faculty
6. International Students
We will be analysing the provided data using Tableau software, which is an advanced visualization tool to analyse the given data based on various parameters to gain meaningful insights so as to advise the client in an optimal manner.
B) AUDIENCE
Every analysis has the intended audience which are the focal point of any analysis. Every element and the aspect of the analysis should be done keeping the intended audience at the centre of our analysis. In the current case the intended audience of our analysis are the students which are seeking advice to select the best educational institutions according to their best interest from our client who is UniSelect in the current case. By analysing the current data set of the rankings of the educational institutions through Tableau software, we will help our client UniSelect to advise the students which are the ultimate audience of this current analysis to choose the best educational institutions that suits best to their interests and objectives.
C) DATA ELEMENTS
Exploring the data elements or the different variable that are there in given data set is the first and foremost thing that has to be considered before undertaking any analysis of the data.
Data elements are the different variables and their types that are present in the data. The different variable usually has different data types like for e.g. Numeric, Categorical, Integer, Boolean, Geographic and etc. The need for exploring the different variables and their types in the data becomes important as the type of analysis and the visualisation is based on considering the particular data type of any variable in the dataset.
