Microsoft Word - MYOB reports assessment essay BPMN diagram 1 2021.docx ASSIGNMENT2021 MYOBReportAssessmentessayandBusinessProcessManagementNotation Hello. This is about your CSF essay. So this essay is designed to help you assess the reports produced by MYOB. And your task is to prepare a report for the general manager of computer world Australia that addresses the following questions. Aside from the HR system, as it isn't incorporated into the reports, what are the major real-world subsystems you believe are needed for the business? Second, what are the critical success factors? With a brief justification for each one that you believe the managers of each subsystem should monitor to ensure that the activities undertaken within each of the subsystems are effective and efficient. Subsystems you might consider are sales, receivables, payments, inventory, general ledger, or the business systems using only the data in the reports available up to the end of July 2018. Give an example, figure or ratio that could be provided by MYOB to measure each of the critical success factors you identified if the information is not available in MYOB suggest the type of information required to measure the CSF and the sources from which that information could be obtained. Recall there’s more to accounting data than managing company. Ratios, you might use are in the Module 8 PowerPoint slides. So that's module 8 there are a lot of ratios in there that you may care to use. The ratios are provided at the end of this document. Again, excluding the HR subsystem, comment on the weaknesses of MYOB subsystems in providing the manager of computer world Australia with the information required to operate and manage the business effectively and efficiently. To summarise, for each real-world subsystem you identify, please limit your assessment to no more than 150 words. Each real-world sub system should name the subsystem, identify the CSF to be monitored. Identify how the example figure or ratio measures your selected CSF, and identify and information provision of weakness of a business information system like MYOB. This part of the assignment should be no more than 750 words. That is five subsystems, each of no more than 150 words per assessment. Again, the reason for the limit is to help you develop the ability to write clearly, concisely. And without, using unnecessary filler, your essay will be graded on the basis of completeness, originality, and it's professional presentation. This part of the assessment is worth 60 marks. The grading rubric indicates the marks available. So now we'll just move to an example of a particular figure to give you some idea of what we might be looking for. Okay, Let's have a look at a quick example of a CSF. And I'll choose a really obvious one. So we've got the profit and loss statement. Are we making a profit or are we making a loss? And so we can see in this instance that we're actually making a loss. Now, sometimes firms do make losses. But as we know that computer world has already been in business for some time. So it's I think it's probably fairly unlikely that they were intentionally making a loss. So we can see if they make a net profit that’s negative. In other words, loss. Let's have a look and see if they make a gross profit. We can see that they do actually make a gross profit. So obviously we've got some fairly high expenses. So here our expenses, we can see that selling in general is SGA expenses. Bank fees, legal and professional fees are quite large. There’s the bad debt. Warehouse depreciation and depreciations are pretty much going to be there anyway. But these legal and professional fees, it seems to be a major cause of all why we are making a loss. Now. We're don’t know whether those legal and professional fees are one of us. I guess one of the weaknesses of MYOB is that we don't get much context to this, at least not in terms of the profit and loss statement. So if it's a one-off, we need to find that out. Or perhaps it might be that this is a recurring case so we might want to investigate why we're paying so much for legal and professional fees. Can we go to another supplier if there is legal and professional advice, who might do it for a lower cost. We can see that we've also got the total SGA is $42,012. So, if we can get this down, that might be a nice way of getting ourselves actually back in profit. So, whenever you go to, to look at CSF, don't just present the CSF critical success factor, whether it's inventory, whether it’s sales, receivables, payables. You need a little short explanation of why it's important and then some little detail about it. But remember to keep it brief. No more than 150 words per assessment. An organizational subsystem is a collective of workers who work together to accomplish a single work-related goal within the broader organizational structure. There are several categories of well-known organizational subsystems. Sales, receivable, payments, general ledger
, and inventory are examples of these.
Major subsystem are the following:
· Sales: Sales play a critical role in the development of consumer satisfaction and trust. Commitment are the primary reasons that a customer will refer your business to a friend or family member or write a positive online review of your product or service. Selling is an intimate and influential relationship between one person and the other. Never neglect your personal association and the potential effect on the image of your brand. Exceptional sales representatives are not only those that sell, but also have a lasting effect on the buyer. A selling is a trade between two or more parties where the buyer collects goods, services or properties in exchange for money, whether tangible or immaterial. In certain instances, a purchaser receives other assets. A sales can also be subject to an agreement on the price of a security, made by a buyer and seller. Long lasting customer connections lead to customers being referred back again and word of mouth building brand awareness.
· Total Sales $ 91306 (in million)
· Phones $30,000
· Watches $1,280
· Computers $47,136
· Accessories $12,790
· Receivable: Good debt management leads positively to the benefit of a business because of the reduction in poor debt. The corporation now provides a better cash balance and more capital available for funding or procurement. Effective control of receivables also improves the professional reputation of an organization. The administration of accounts receivable includes ensuring that consumers settle their invoices. Good handling of claims tends to avoid late or non-payment compensation. It is therefore a fast and efficient way to improve the financial or liquidity status of the firm. A systematic method consisting of good receivables control is:
1. Prepare the credit status of the consumer
2. Customers also check for credit threats and track them
3. Customer relationships are maintained
4. Detection in due period to late payments
5. Requests detection in due course
6. Reducing the overall equilibrium (DSO)
7. Preventing poor loans in unpaid receivables
· Sales divide by Account Receivable
· Sales ($91,306)
· Account Rec. ($28,852)
· Receivable turnover 3.16.
· Payments: It is critical that you pay for what the organization hopes to do by setting up incentive schemes. If businesses really want to meet their targets, payment schemes that match their objectives are needed....
