Do I think local design practices recognize the environmental functions of site planning; landscape; occupancy use and transportation infrastructure, yes I do. I know my local design practice does and if something isn't added the building-department will make sure it is before the permit is released. I live in Naples FL where the building-department is very strict and only allows certain things to be built. They take design very serious when it comes to the environment and the community. We are very eco-friendly here and they don't allow certain trees to be removed and stormwater drainage is very important. The building-department does inspections to make sure the builders are following all the necessary procedures to protect anything that has to do with the environment.
