Once you have identified your target company you will write an analytical assessment covering the change undergone by the company.  You will diagnose the type of change endured by the company, and take into consideration the political aspects of that change. You will discuss the culture and design of the company, and you will detail any resistance to the change faced by the company.

In particular, you must: 1. Diagnose the type of change that occurred in the organisation.  Discuss the nature of the change involved, whether certain breakpoints are relevant to the analysis, and what the triggers of change were.  Refer to Balogun and Hailey’s typology of change where necessary. 2. Discuss the power dynamics within the organisation and the politics affecting the change effort.  What sources of power did the leaders of change draw upon, and if there was conflict involved in the change, how was it resolved. Utilize Thomas &  Killman’s conflict analysis typology if appropriate. 3. Evaluate and discuss the resistance to the change effort.  What types of resistance (direct/indirect) occurred and what was the company's response. Evaluate the company’s approach to change and recommend a strategy or approach for future change management. 4. Describe the culture of the organisation paying particular attention to the various layers of culture. Did the change initiative align with the culture?Evaluate  and make recommendations for managing the implications of the change’s effect on culture. 5. Describe the structure and design of the organisation.  How would you characterise the design of the organisation ( bureaucratic, horizontal, etc.), and how does that design compare with its structure.  How did these elements impact the change initiative
