Assessable and Non-Assessable Tasks There are a range of learning tasks to undertake in the completion of this unit. Some are formal, compulsory and directly contribute to your final grade in this unit. These are referred to as Formal Assessment Tasks and this page provides an overview of their requirements. Conversely, you will see Non-Assessable Tasks in the form of learning exercises and professional practice activities appear throughout this unit. While these exercises and activities do not directly contribute to your final grade (i.e. are non-assessable tasks), they will assist your learning and better prepare you to complete the Formal Assessment Tasks. Exercises and professional practice activities are also intended to reinforce key concepts, and assist you with applying them to your workplace. From these Non-Assessable Tasks and Activities, pick and choose those that you feel are most relevant to you and your situation. But by undertaking as many as possible, you will maximise your investment in your studies. Formal Assessment Tasks Below is a list of the formal assessment tasks for this unit.  Each of these assessments is compulsory to complete and each will contribute directly to your final grade for this unit, based on the weightings given.  Online Quizzes (30%) You will be required to complete two Online Quizzes each worth 15% for a combined total of 30%. Both quizzes comprises 15 multiple choice questions each. You have 45 minutes to complete each quiz. Case Study (30%) In this assessment, you will be presented with a dilemma as detailed in the case study:  The CEO Who Couldn't Keep His Foot out of his Mouth (Burrell et al., 2006).  The case study explores both the achievements and missteps of Rob Miranda, CEO of Growing Places.  Assuming the position of Evan Breyer founder and chairman of the company, you must decide amongst other matters, whether to continue backing Rob as CEO, or whether he should be let go.  Your response should not exceed 2,500 words. Project (Applied) (40%) Your goal with this project is to identify a business problem in your workplace and develop a positive solution that can be achieved through the application of communication theories, models, approaches and concepts studied in Communication for Leadership Success. Your submission should not exceed 2,500 words.
