1. Abstract
The IVA and IPA are the most common terms used by modern users while working with virtual assistance and its technology implementations. The popularity of such devices is increasing on regular bases. The increased use of such devices of virtual assistance makes use of text
, voice and also images for communication. The privacy issues are very common with these smart technology and these issues are mainly identified and explained in my proposal.
This proposed research is aimed with resolving the privacy issues caused by virtual technology implementation in normal life. The recognition of sound pattern causes security issues to connected devices to such applications. Identification and resolving such issues shows the research aim from my proposal.
As this research is related to smart technologies, thus, quantitative or qualitative approaches are not followed by me. The Oz approach is followed for completing this research work. As this approach is followed to maintain interaction among computers and robots, so, I focused on this approach.
The completion of this research will identify the security and privacy concerns with use of smart technologies of virtual assistance. The removal of these issues will increase the reliability of these devices and these can even be implemented with robotics for medical field. This proposal will provide the significance towards implementation of virtual assistance in field on health care and other important fields.
2. Introduction
The proposal of any research is based on the identified issues with that technology implementation. The “Dolphin attack”, insecurity in voice assistance and many other issues leads to make research on this virtual assistance topic. The use of Oz approach for defining human and robot communication is mainly causing these issues. Thus, any new approach which minimizes the possible issues and attacks caused by virtual assistance is mainly required. There is so much research is going on this virtual assistance area. The applications like Cortana, Google assistance, Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa etc. are very commonly used by uses these days. These technologies have reduced human tasks and humans can interact with robots through voice, image and many other methods. Storing the client information with these applications on third party is mainly causing the privacy issues. The potential uses of data maintained by any third party attract me to conduct research on this topic. The uses of IVSs also have issues with understanding the voice context, recognition of human voice and effective required communication. The actual results of using these applications are quite different from the lab results. The requirement to solve the privacy issues and increased level of voice recognition for IVA implementation maintains their improvement scope. The use of these applications with different OS and devices is important issues as these does not support to all OS. Thus, handling and identification of such issues is mainly completed in my research proposal.
3. Methodology selection
Completing the research required selection of a methodology, so that, required outcome can be obtained. For completing my research work, the qualitative approach is followed by me. The selected article based on this qualitative approach is:
Tulshan, A. S., & Dhage, S. N. (2018, September). Survey on Virtual Assistant: Google Assistant, Siri, Cortana, Alexa. In International Symposium on Signal Processing and Intelligent Recognition Systems (pp. 190-201). Springer, Singapore.
The authors conducted a survey for identification of possible issues with IVA applications. The issues of free hand interaction voice recognition, and understanding towards user context are identified by this survey. The functionalities of such applications are effectively analyzed y authors. The role of operating systems in virtual assistance is also analyzed by authors.
The authors conducted this research to find the issues with virtual assistance and its applications. The used operating systems and devices also allow authors to conduct this research. The analysis of these IVA devices based on their increased role is important and identification of issues becomes important.
The use of qualitative approach allows the authors to focus on quality not on quantity. The focus on quality leads to easy identification of possible issues. The security issues and privacy issues are easily identified by conducted survey. The respective plan to improvement is also based on quality, so, required results can be obtained.
This research makes achievement of identification of possible issues with smart technologies. The significance of resolving these issues is obtained by this research work. The frequencies of users and their interactions are defined with this research work. The graphical analysis of performed tasks with smart applications and their accuracy is measured and shows the significance to their research.
These technologies are suitable for small queries but with large and complex queries, the required results are not obtained. The percentage based results for conducted survey are presented by authors. The handlings of user context and user voice are also analyzed by authors. The variation in user voice and frequency also shows the scope of future improvements.
The issues of changed frequency of user voice, privacy issues, storing data on third party show the shows the scope of future research. By conducting this research, these identified issues can be resolved. The proposal for more accurate results in voice recognition can be obtained. Following Oz approach or something else will also show the future research scope.
4. Proposed research work
Problem statement: The identification and resolving the privacy issues, data issues because of third party involvement, voice recognition issues and Oz approach issues are main problems focused for this research.
Research aim: Proposing the methods and architecture for resolving the privacy issues, data issues because of third party involvement, voice recognition issues and Oz approach issues shows the aim of my research.
Significance and outcomes: The possible improvements in Oz approach can make easy recognition of human voice. Storing database on used virtual assistance application in place of third party will also make significant benefits to end user. The effective use of voice frequency will improve the recognition powers of these applications.
Innovation and methods: The structure diagram of proposed methods is:
From this structure diagram and completing the survey, the required outcomes of typical scenarios can be done. As this is research on virtual assistance, so, any programming outcome is not included in it.
5. Conclusion
The identification and resolving the privacy issues, data issues because of third party involvement, voice recognition issues and Oz approach issues are main problems focused for this research. By completing this research the better performance can be obtained in IVA devices and their applications. Better approach and required improvements can be proposed for IVA devices.
