Introduction
Project Management (“
PM”) as a framework offers multitude of approaches, methodologies, tools / techniques, and guidance on how to effectively plan, manage, deliver projects. While the comprehensive nature of these frameworks may appear to be a boon for project managers, the same is not as simple as it may seem. For instance, despite access too such wide-ranging approaches, methodologies, tools / techniques, and guidance of PM, projects continue to fail, mismanage, and continues to be challenging (Joslin & Müller, 2016; Hughes et al., 2017; Ika & Donnelly, 2017). A deeper insight and assessment in to this illustrate wider aspects like what tools or approaches to use, the effectiveness in managing the project team and / or the stakeholders or users. More importantly, the question of how the PM practices, implementation, and overall competency of project team influence the success or failure of projects is an important element to consider on.

Uber, as it is evident now, has spawned a separate domain termed as “Uber Economy” wherein mobile applications by way of algorithmic management goes beyond just being a market place of service providers and users to that of collaborating with service providers to offer a never before existed flexibility and value in service delivery for the end users. This model of Uber has been replicated across many different domains in a successful manner.

Further, the defining of success factors for project represents one of the key steps to determine the success of the project, the inputs for PM system as well as holds significant effect over the outcomes. At a broad level, critical factors of success represent wide ranging project parameters / variables that correlate in a significant manner with the project success as well as the minimization / maximization, achieving project success (Joslin & Müller, 2016; Hughes et al., 2017; Ika & Donnelly, 2017).
In the background of the same, when I review the Uber case of pursuing a project to redesign and redevelop its application, I notice at the very outset, a lack of clarity or a fuzziness in the outcome expected or desired. The same in itself is not an issue of...
