Task 1
In this report we will create a network design for the organization. For the network design we will require cables, routers, computer system, printers, switches, and other things also. For this we will need different types of servers. First one is mail server. Mail server is known as the e-mail server. It is able to handle and deliver the email over the network over the internet connection. The mail server is able to receive the emails from the client and deliver to the system of another client. It is also able to deliver the emails to client computers. The client computer is the computer on which the user can read the emails. Another one is database server which is referred as the combination of software and hardware. They are used for executing the database as per the requirement. The database server works as the back-end portion for the whole application and follows the old model post off my questions also the instance. The database server edited server and it is helpful in offering database services and this type of server are people database management software. The database server has the same working manner as the client server network model. There are many large-scale organisations which are using database servers because they require lot of the data on the regular basis. If the organizations are implementing client server architecture in which all the clients will need to process the data on the regular basis, then database server will be associated with it and they will work together. Few companies are also hiring file server for storing and processing the data, but database server is better option.
The proxy server is the type of machine which is used for translating traffic between the protocols or the networks. It behaves like the intermediary server which is used for separating the end user clients from the destination for which they are searching. Proxy servers are used for providing different levels of the security, functionality and the privacy on the basis of use case, company or the requirement
The multilayer switch is also used in the network design, and it has the ability for operating at the higher layers of OSI reference model. The multilayer switch is able to perform the functions of the switch and also the functions of router at much faster speed. For this design I have used computer power laptop and printers as the end components. It has different types of the cables for connecting different devices in the network.
Task 2
The following is the network design diagram for the given scenario. I have used packet tracer for designing the diagram.
All the required five labs are created in this network design. There are different routers which are used to provide connectivity to these labs. The main server and database servers are implemented in lab 1 and all other labs can use their services through set connections. The DHCP based IP allocation is carried out for all computer systems (for managers and administrators). The wireless router is implemented and connected devices are also shown in the developed network diagram. The central firewall implementation is also maintained for improving the security of this network. The required printers and internet connectivity is maintained in this network diagram.
Task 3
