And that is the power of internet in today’s world. The generation before ours would probably even not relate to how internet can actually change our lives, but we do, and in a practical way. When we talk about businesses in today’s world, it is difficult to distinguish between its presence physically and virtually but it immediately becomes inadequate if the presence is just physical. Let’s start with a simple example of a roadside vendor selling kebabs on Times Square, New York. Even with such a busy crowd, and such a popular place, he may not end up with a lot of loyal customers. But, just imagine a food blogger likes the food, and takes a small video and uploads it on his/her Instagram page with a hundred thousand followers. News spreads like fire, and now the seller cannot manage the crowd. That is the difference which internet and its speed brings in our lives.
Like mentioned in the topic itself, I too believe that internet brings in its benefits and complications at the same time, but complications only start once the business has been fairly established. But in its cradling times, we can all agree that internet is one of the best approaches to kickstart. The important past is always how to leverage its benefits, by least complicating the situation. Like Warren Buffet said, “when you combine ignorance and leverage, you get some pretty interesting results”.
