Students are required to describe the elements of a Strategic Plan and identify key performance measures for a Not-for-Profit social service operating in their state. The service type, Vision and Mission are presented below: • The service: Support service for young people experiencing mental health issues and experiencing homelessness. • The Vision: An Australian service where young people can gain access to appropriate support for mental health and housing. • The Mission: To enable young people who are experiencing mental health issues to secure safe and stable housing and ongoing support. Based on your individual research, the Strategic Plan will include the following: • Four Service Values and the reason why you chose each value. • Three Strategic Objectives (or goals) of the organisation. • For each Strategic Objective identified, list one Outcome that can be measured that relates to the benefits of the service that you want to achieve. • For each Outcome identified, list a related Output that tracks the services that are provided. • Select one Strategic Objective and identify a Benchmark that you could use to assess the performance of the service. Include a description of how the Benchmark you have chosen relates to a relevant Outcome or Output measure. • Identify the Impact that you want to achieve and describe the wider social and economic consequences of the of the work of the service. You must use APA 7 referencing. Your written report should include at least 5 peer-reviewed (scholarly) journal articles or book chapters, in addition to any textbook references and Strategic Plans that you used to prepare your Practical Report. Abstract
Strategic planning is important for every organization. It helps
for managing the current and future activities fruitfully. Most international companies considered a strategic plan an effective tool for making the right decisions and for improving the overall performance of the company (Desmidt et al 2021, p.448). In the case of a not for a profit organization strategic plan helps for evaluating the progress and for understanding the current problems faced by the organization. In this research paper, we are analysing the strategic plan elements of a not-for-profit organization called Youth Mental and Homelessness-Mission Australia.

Service values are very important for a not for profit organization, while selecting the service values we have to consider the influence of both internal and external factors.

Reason for Selecting the Four Values
Respect – Give respect and take respect, that is the main policy of the company, and the employees in the organization wants to treat everyone with dignity and respect. If we are not including respect as a most important service value it will directly affect the functions. By giving respect to other we are creating an image for our organization and it also helps for attracting more people to the services offered by the organization.
Collaboration – For providing quality services to the people, we have to work as a team. Collaboration of resources, people and equipment are required for satisfying the social, mental and healthcare needs of the people. Collaboration among the employees helps for creating a positive atmosphere and it also helps for boosting the morale of the organization (Leblanc 2020, p.30). Collaboration also helps the organization for reducing administrative cost and it also helps for improving the range of services.
