Introduction
Canberra created in a sheep paddock - the first stone laid in 1913. Canberra is a different city from all the cities of Australia. It is a well-planned city. It is a drive about seven to eight hours from the North of Melbourne. Many people believed that it is just deserted land but it is much more than that. It blessed with a variety of cultures and artistic expressions. The city has a museum gallery house that contains a living collection of international and national accolades (Visit Canberra, 2020). A flourishing art scene of creativity complements with growth and reprise of precincts across the city being drive by a new generation of Canberra’s that added their own unique culture. They also have local work of season and this work inspires others. A convenient way to explore the city is by bike or by shuttle bus services that are available in many attraction points (Visit Canberra, 2020).
History of Canberra
Canberra is the federal capital of the Commonwealth of Australia. It lies somewhere between the two most popular cities in Australia that is Sydney and Melbourne. As a capital city, it has a very short history. The land inhabited and tendered many hundreds of years. Canberra grew slowly as the arrival of the federal parliament. Europeans came to live in the Canberra region and they began to grow whereas aboriginal people occupied the mountain and valley region for more than fifty years. Canberra derived from the regional aboriginal dialect that means a meeting point between Sydney and Melbourne. Therefore, in 1908 commonwealth seven state and federal parliament made Canberra as a federal capital territory of Australia.
Canberra’s Artistic and Cultural Collection
Canberra is famous for its clean, pure, fresh air and beautiful blue skies. It has four distinct seasons. The weather ranges from season to season. The average temperature in summer is 27 degrees Celsius and in winter, it goes down up to 12 degrees Celsius. North Canberra and South Canberra has its tourist attraction (Graham & Sathye, 2017). Canberra Southside civic has “south of the lake” which is full of amazing shopping malls, fun, food, and many more attractions. Whereas north Canberra filled with natural sights, including “parliamentary triangle”, Kingston, and Manuka, they are a perfect sight to experience nature offerings. This place has accommodation and various resorts facilities with coffee shops and cafes. Central Canberra is full of amusement with solid bars, restaurants, lounge, and nightclubs.
