This course aims to provide the student with opportunities to:


•    Explore the requirements regarding duty of care for managing day care/residential settings.
•    Examine disciplinary approaches, policies and procedures derived from current legislation.

•    Explore the applicable processes involved in registering care settings.


Learning Outcomes:


At the end of the course the student will be able to:


1.    Discuss key aspects relating to the efficient management of care settings.
2.    Demonstrate an understanding of issues pertaining to equality and diversity.

3.    Summarise the importance of working within a multi-disciplinary network and the overall importance of team work.

4.    Establish the requirements to achieve and maintain a contract of registration with the Local Authority or Health Authority to provide a care service.
