Introduction
Kimberle Crenshaw introduced the concept of intersectionality in 1989 to refer to various types of oppressions faced by black women in different societies (Carbado, D. W., Crenshaw, K. W., Mays, V. M., & Tomlinson, B. 2013). The prevailing idea in feminist thought on the relationship between the repressive institutions that form our different identities and the social positions we occupy within them is now known as intersectionality.
