    In a previous role at a technology company, I encountered a situation where incorrect performance measures were used to evaluate the performance of the software development teams. The company are primarily relied on the number of lines of code written by each developer as the key performance indicator to assess the individual on the team productivity. The management of the company believed that more lines of code equated to higher productivity and faster project completion.
