I have attended the Fall Festival of Hymns: All Creation Sings and it was an endearing and insightful experience. Not only were the hymns soulful but I also understood the knowledge to analyse the hymns. By the virtue of this assignment, I have selected two hymns
· Hymn 1: For the Beauty of The Earth
· Hymn 2: All Creature worship God Most High
The first hymn that I have selected is For the Beauty of the Earth is a Christian hymn by Folliott S.Pierpoint. The second Hymn is "All Creatures, worship God most High”. it was writtent by Francis of Assisi, "Geistliche Kirchengesange"
Analysis of Hymn 1 - For the Beauty of The Earth
Authors and Composers of the Hymn is Folliott Pierpoint
Author/Composer of the Hymn lived - Author Folliott S.Pierpoint was born in the interesting and historic town of Bath, England, on Oct. 7, 1835, and was a member of the Anglican Church. However, little else is known about him other than he was a prolific writer. After he resigned his position at Somersetshire, Pierpoint lived at Babbiecombe in Devonshire, and at other places, where he did occasional teaching. Because he enjoyed a patrimony, he was able to become an independent writer and wrote when he felt like it.
Essence of the Hymn written/ Purpose of writing the Hymn This hymn praises the God for every creation he has made since all the creation are breath-taking and gives out love. Though widely travelled, Pierpoint lived most of his life in Bath; his life-long appreciation of nature and the beautiful countryside of southwest England crowned in the purple of violets and the pale-yellow primrose of Spring is reflected in his most famous hymn.
Usage and applications of the Hymn - This hymn is used by various Christian denominations. Some verses are used as routine and in certain times, phrases are changed...
