For this assignment, you will turn in the first draft of your research paper. This draft should be at least four pages in length not counting the title page and reference page.


You will need to incorporate your research up to this point along with your thesis from Unit III. Within this part of your research paper, you will need to address the following information surrounding your topic:


correlate the connection between affective content and how we perceive others,
validate how affective content can affect daily interactions,
explain the effect of research on the theory of reasoned action and the theory of planned behavior, and summarize how current attitude research can be applied to a current topic in society.


Your paper must follow APA guidelines. Your research paper must contain at least three peer-reviewed articles.Three articles are included. Thank you!





Thesis


I feel the topic of trying to compete with one’s peers will allowme to research and understand today’s generations as they navigate through their school years with their peers. In this paper, we will look at in what ways the stress of trying to compete with peers has an effect on teenagers in today’s society. These ways can include, social groups, material items, their schoolwork, what extracurricular activities they are in, what school clubs they may be in, and how a positive attitude vs a negative attitude could affect stress levels.

Introduction
We live in one of the most competitive eras of the century, where disruptions are taking place at much drastic pace. It is easier to discern from the research that the society have progressed massiv
ely relative to the generations before especially in few critical aspects. For example, penetration of internet at the deepest level, technology manifestation and transportation have shaped various aspects how people live today (Dupéré, V., Leventhal, T., Dion, E., Crosnoe, R., Archambault, I., & Janosz, M., 2015). This shift in lifestyle has influence ways of working, studying, teaching, travelling and various walks of life. By the virtue of this paper, I have performed extensive research on impact of these changes on the teenagers. As I research for this thesis, it was easier to discern that majority of teenagers that deals with the frustration because of academic stress, changes in the body or social pressure. While there are few who are courageous admits the chaos in their life. On the other hand, majority of them tends to focus on teenage violence, obesity, suicide, diabetes etc. There is requirement of holistic approach to enable the teenagers navigate through the stress effectively (Smith, C., & Carlson, B. E., 1997).
Thesis
We have heard many cases of peer competition leading to lower self-esteem, imbalance in work/life as well as extreme cases of suicides and homicides. Thesis of my research paper also me to comprehend how today's generation navigate through their stress building from continuous competition in the school or colleges. Furthermore, I will also focus on what are the effects of these stress on the teenagers especially studying the social media aspect deeper (Dupéré, V., Leventhal, T., Dion, E., Crosnoe, R., Archambault, I., & Janosz, M., 2015).
Current Dynamics
Whether it is a cross-country race, presidential student council elections or a competition to become the valedictorian in school, a teenager today will experience tremendous competition. Although, certain level of competition acts as a positive fuel for the children encouraging them to perform better.
