Current Company Structure
The current organization structure of this particular company is a Hierarchical Structure and it is based on the hierarchical model as it is one of the most popular types. Furthermore, in this particular structure workers are grouped with every employee having one clear supervisor. The grouping is mainly based on some of the factors therefore the model is derived from the following factors like:
Geography- workers are grouped based on their religion. For instance, in U.S. workers are grouped as per the state.
Function- workers in this segment are mainly grouped as per the function that they provide. The below-mentioned organization chart of this company shows that the employees are grouped as per their designation.
Product- If a firm is producing a lot of products or offering various services then it can be directly grouped as per the service or product. It is regarded as one of the most dominant mode of a company. The major advantages that are enjoyed by the company are as follows: It helps to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the workers and allowing workers to be in-depth specialists as they are more likely to have niche positions. On the contrary, some of the main disadvantages of this structure include slow decision making because of the complicated chains of command and also restricted information because of the very little downward flow of information to the lower-level workers (Sarsby, 2016).
Organization Structure Preference
The preferred company structure will be the line organizational structure and it is one of the simplest forms of the organizational structures. The authority tends to flow from top to bottom. Unlike other specialized, structures and supportive services do not take place in these types of companies.
The chain of command and each of the department head has a lot of control over the other departments. Furthermore, the self-contained department structure can be observed as its major characteristic. The independent decisions can be taken by the line officers because of the unified structure. One of the major advantages of a line organizational structure can be identified as an effective communication that tends to bring a lot of stability to the company.
