Introduction
The current world is of digitalization and with the increase in the market penetration of internet and mobile phones, the e-commerce sector has seen a boom. The growth rate of e-commerce sector is huge as it is user-friendly and easy to use. The main cause of the booming of the e-commerce sector is the rise in the workload of an individual. It can be seen that the work pressure is increasing day by day so the individuals are becoming lazy. Earlier on a free day, an individual used to go out and do shopping, watch movies or dine outside but now on a free day the individual just wants to stay in their home and relax. This phenomenon has forced many organizations to change their business model. Most of the restaurants have started online delivery, various retains outlets have listed their product on online and various products are also seen to be sold online (Laudon, & Traver, 2016). Individuals are more connected with their phone rather than family members. For any problem, be it personal or professional the first thing that comes out is a mobile phone. Various organizations have started developing a mobile app to cater to and the target number of customers.
Project Case
One of the prime sectors that transformed due to the increase in mobile penetration is the taxi or cab industry. Earlier people used to go on the streets and book can physically but now people want the facility to get picked up from their home. This thought process has helped an organization like Uber and Lyft’s to be extremely successful in their business model. The business model of Uber is very simple. Uber does not own any car but still is the leading cab service provider in the world. Uber is just an app that connects the passenger and the cab drivers so that both can fulfill their necessity (Smith, 2016). If uber have a huge number of rider base but fewer numbers of driver base or a huge driver base and less number of riders base. In either of the situation, it will harm the potentiality of the firm (Bashir, Yousaf & Verma, 2016). It is important to maintain a balance between the two riders and drivers. To maintain balance the organization need to provide benefit and satisfy both riders and drivers at the same time. Due to this reason the organization suffered a loss of 2.8 billion dollar and 4.5 billion dollar in the year 2016 and 2017 respectively (Bashir & Verma, 2017).
To solve the problem the organization rolled out new features for the app and included features like surge area and the rate at which the rider will get pinged for a ride. It will help the rider to get the idea about the pinged so other things like having food, washrooms or phone call can be performed by them during that time. There was another featured that was added and it was the demand prediction char. It was a highly sensitive data that was shared to the driver by the organization. It was a very risky move but it was provided to the drivers so that the drivers can plan the time of the ride.

The selection of the projects is an essential tool that is used by an organization to determine the best possible project to maximize the profitability (Serra & Kunc, 2015). There are two types of project selection methods or also known as the decision models. One is Benefit Measurement Methods and the other is Constrained Optimization Method (Boardman et al., 2017).
