When Vineeth Nayar assumed the position of CEO at HCL, one of his primary aims was to make the employees feel a sense of ownership. This move was considered as a force to enhance the company's overall performance. He had boldly crafted a system known as Employees First and Customers Second (EFCS) in the aftermath of achieving this goal, which concentrated primary on its workers and their satisfaction. He subsequently defined 50000 workers worldwide who work with clients directly and classified them as Value Zone. The employees under the value zone were assisted by appropriate training and the provision of access to information. Vineeth has developed a U&I forum through which staff was allowed for direct contact with the CEO. He has handled more than 100 questions a week and took the necessary action. Overall HCL thought that EFCS had greatly increased the efficiency of employees .
