Introduction
Religion is one of the most integral parts of a person’s life which an individual gains from the society or from their family. There are over 4000 religions across the globe. Religion is nothing but a particular process of worshipping the almighty. This is a belief that is follo
wed by the people throughout the world. Like religious beliefs, afterlife is also a belief which defines about the existence after a person’s demise. This is the time of the later period after an individual’s life. The belief about afterlife is diverse and different from one religion to another. But the common section is this is an aspect of the souls and spirits of the people after the death of their biological body. Here in this article, the further discussion will be focusing about some religious views regarding the afterlife. A compare and contrast of each religious views will be there in this article.
Discussion and Contrast
To discuss and compare the afterworld, there is a genuine need to pick up some religions and their religious beliefs about this topic. For instance, three different religions are considered to pursue the further discussion. The religions are Christianity, Islam and Buddhism. These three religions are some of the highest followed religions of the world which have the capability to compare and contrast about their afterlife beliefs in details.
Afterlife in Christianity
This is the highest followed religion of the globe. More than 31% of the total population follows this religion. Most of the 1st world countries are in a majority in terms of following Christianity. According to the Christianity, this believes about the afterlife is nothing but the firm resurrection of Jesus[footnoteRef:1]. According to the religion and the followers, the death of Jesus is the payment to the God for the sins done by the human being which are restored by the almighty. Another group of Christian believe that after death, individuals are taken to the God and there is a judgment process about their sins and deeds[footnoteRef:2]. The judgments are done based on the faults they have done in their life. According to their level of deeds, there are some stages which decide the scenario of the afterlife. Some Christians do believe that the judgment process happens just after the death of an individual. Everyone who are dead are judged at the time of their last breathe, according to a group of Christians. A couple of judgment methods are there according to some beliefs. These are personal judgment which occurs just after the death and the definitive judgment which is judged after the initial judgment process. The concept of Hell has come from the thought of disbelief of God. According to the Christianize, people are independent about their beliefs and disbeliefs about God. According to the Bible, Hell is a place which is full of fire and sufferings which symbolizes the concept of pain. Post death, the concept of Hell comes from the disbelief about God and its God’s call about a person where the almighty refuses and accepts the offerings of an individual. Heaven is a concept about the people’s goodness in their life[footnoteRef:3]. If a person does well in life, he/she will be sent to heaven as a reward according to the Christian belief. The final belief about the afterlife in Christianity is Purgatory, which defines about the purification of the sins. The Roman Catholic Church trains and provides lessons about the purification which is called Purgatory. It is a stage where individuals pray and purify themselves from the sins they have done in their life so far to get place in heaven after the death....
