Introduction
Mental health issues is an alarming issue in the United States of America. Although the percentage of American suffering from such issues has decreased in the recent past, but there are still many people suffering from such issues. Moreover, families can ask support through family counselling, which are performed in groups and this can help to stabilize stress levels and innovative ideas to handle family constrains.
Mental Health Scenario
Mental health is the normal and healthier thought process or emotional and psychological wellbeing of an individual. When these processes are disturbed due to any morphological, environmental or psychological issues it becomes mental illness. There is a burden on the family to ensure treatment to the individual. In the recent past, the government and other non-governmental organizations have taken steps to deal with the issues. Such bodies are trying to reach the individuals suffering from mental issues and providing the required treatment (NAMI, 2019).
It is really a myth that the children do not suffer from mental health issues. Most of the public below the age of 24 are suffering from some mental health issues. The same is due to sedentary lifestyle of the Americans. Lack of physical activity, excessive use of electronic devices, lack of communication with parents, peers and such issues are the major reason behind the mental health issues in the state. It is believed that people suffering from mental issues are violent and unpredictable, but the same is not true. It has been observed that most of the public prefer taking a pill rather than therapy and proper treatment. This has led to escalation of the issue because a pill can provide satisfaction for a short period, but is not a viable option for permanent recovery of the affected person (NAMI, 2019).
