1. Based upon the required readings and outside sources, identify the main differences between Academic/Scholarly writing and other types of writing?

According to (Hartley& James, 2008). Academic writing refers to a style of expression that researchers use to define the intellectual boundaries of their disciplines and their specific areas of expertise. Characteristics of academic writing include a formal tone, use of the third-person rather than first-person perspective (usually), a clear focus on the research problem under investigation, and precise word choice. Like specialist languages adopted in other professions, such as, law or medicine, academic writing is designed to convey agreed meaning about complex ideas or concepts for a group of scholarly experts.

Scholarly writing has also been labeled as academic writing and scientific writing or reporting. General aspects of scholarly writing are: (a) precise language, (b) semiformal language, (c) impersonal content, (d) objective content, and (e) clear communication (Baker, Santos, & Krahwinkel, 2014).

2. Why is Academic/Scholarly writing an important skill for doctoral students?

Writing is the Vehicle that most graduate programs embrace as the means for reviewing how well students are able to assimilate knowledge and integrate that knowledge into new ideas (Ondrusedk, 2012).

Academic writing is the mirror of doctoral students thoughts, so it is important for them to learn how best to write in a way, which will clarify their thoughts and show that they are understandable with what they are talking about.

Academic writing teaches students to analyze, convey their understanding, it has a strong focus on technique and style, and how it should be used to best convey ideas, and it teaches students to think critically and objectively to make them convey their thoughts from a different perspective.

3. Which areas of your writing do you think need to be improved to meet Academic/Scholarly writing at the doctoral level?

I need to work on three areas 1) learn how to think out of the box to improve my writing. 2) Learn how to analyze theories from a different point of view then make a statement based on what I understand. 3) Learn how to gather my information and use my technique to convey my ideas, and my thoughts clearly with no complexity.

I did this paper and then my professor send me a feedback sayingYour first two points have been addressed in other threads so I will make an observation on your third point.

As the instructional literature in this class will explain, academic writing is not about reporting on what others have written. It's also not a forum for expressing personal opinions. So what is it?
It's a well structured and defined manner of saying something new based upon what has already been shown as more or less true. Simply relaying what was written someplace else without any additional interpretation or analysis doesn't show any learning. Plus, you want to inform your audience of what your have to say about the subject, however it must be supported with evidence from the literature. A tricky proposition but essential.
So yes, you need to think outside the box but make sure you are still standing on the box for your support. References from the Peer-Reviewed Journals (PJRAs) are the key to good doctoral level writing. so please I want you to give him a strong argument shown my answer is write and give more explaining on the question or modifying
