Answer 1
Employee development is a step taken by the organization to ensure
that the employees are always kept encouraged to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge with respect to the demand. Stacho et al. (2019) have discussed that for the employee development, managers or supervisors play a crucial role by adopting these strategies:
· Employees need to be motivated to participate in different kind of training programs and different kind of employee development activities. Employees work becomes monotonous when they get engaged in regular activities, however, with proper training the employees will be able to think in innovative manner and they will be able to contribute more towards organizational operation.
· It is important for the managers or supervisors to sit with the employees to identify their areas, where they are lacking new skills, which is essential for increasing the productivity. A proper remark from the manager and helping employees in identifying their areas of correction will help them to perform in a better way.
· Managers must encourage the employees to develop their skills through online classes or distance learning courses, which will help the employees to gather different knowledge relevant to their work. This will help them boost their productivity.
· It is important for the managers to list out the deficiencies among the employees related to their skills and knowledge, and based on that the employee development program should be designed.
· Managers with the collaboration with HRD must ensure the availability of adequate resources necessary to conduct the employee development activities in a proper manner to deliver the desired output from the employees to the organization.
