1. For the Google Drive Assignment, you practiced interpreting and applying one passage from "The Allegory of the Cave," but for this assignment, I am asking you to interpret and apply the piece as a whole. This means you assign real-world equivalents--who are the prisoners in your interpretation, who are the puppet masters, who are the enlightened former prisoners, why are they persecuted when they return to the cave and try to free others, and ultimately what do you think this allegory might tell us about the role of education and what it should be, what are the major obstacles to fully liberating all humans or the humans in the particular group of prisoners you are focusing on, and what kind of education would it take to overcome those obstacles? Try to answer these questions in your creative application of Plato's allegory to education, and then end your post with the questions the allegory raises for you.

2. Logically integrate at least three important quotes (sentences or short phrases) in the process of explaining your interpretation and application of the allegory. Make sure you include page number citations for each of your quotes.

Response:

1. Once you've completed your post, choose a classmate's post, and give them feedback on both their interpretation and application, fully explaining what you think about it and why.

2. Give them specific feedback on how they work with quotations and where you think they are purposefully chosen and well integrated and why and where you think they could either use a better quote or work with the quote they do have more effectively, why, and how.

Plato tried to explain how it affects the human mind when they meet with the reality. The dark cave refers to the contemporary world of ignorance, chained people symbolizes ignorant souls, the raised walls signifies the constraints of our thinking and the shadow symbolizes the world of sensory perception which Plato refers as illusion.
The cave people like most of us in the society likes to believe the “shadows” are the truth, which is based on money, fame, education, love. These all are a set of rules society has made so that human minds can think and behave in a certain way and...
