(WRITING SAMPLE FOR APPLYING ADMISION FOR GRADUATE SCHOOL ED.D DEGREE IN LEADERSHIP STUDIES)
My primary objective to pursue a Doctorate in leadership education is for increasing my knowledge base of education philosophy and research methods. I particularly want to improve on my research ability because, as I prepare for careers in education, I feel that it is necessary to gain research abilities in order to be a lifelong learner and to develop an academic self-evaluation. I understand the extent, to which it is important for my prospective colleagues to become trustworthy that I serve on the ground.
As much as I can, I attempted to bring about a difference. I observed the overworked conditions facing social workers and volunteers as a volunteer at the Christian Assistance Ministry. Such diligent staff had no respite from their everyday meals, washing and providing money for homeless people and families in a desperate situation. Those who were surveyed, where I discussed the plight of consumers and received cash or clothing assistance, were the most important tasks for me at the Christian Aid Ministry. I soon discovered the ways of intake and interview and the data provided to the employers. I agreed to redo and modernize these types and lists after approval by the Administrator.
I also had lists from other organizations, which would help customers in the Greater Houston Area to find the help they needed. The City Public Service used one of the lists I have created to refer to customers who require financial help to pay their utility bills. Apart from that, I also made using of my writing skills, by personally contacting each of the people, by writing to them personally, in order to obtain their individual names, contact numbers and addresses. My work was supported financially by many members of the Christian Assistance Ministry, who helped me by collecting my lists of hotline numbers for jobs, for housing at a very affordable price and for other shelter options.
In my work at SeaNet currently, I felt it was essential to learn all the aspects of our customers, which the SMADC and the SMADC consultants had to do with the service that we were offering since we had no personal contact with them in the company we were doing.
