  1. Take a few moments and look through the material located at:https://www.congress.gov/(Links to an external site.)

  2. Using the search feature, locate abillrelevant to healthcare. (You are encouraged to use this opportunity to conduct some research into your selected issue for the Policy Analysis Portfolio assignment.). Make sure you choose a BILL, not a resolution. However, do look at a couple of resolutions to help you apprectiate the difference between the two.

  3. Give the official title, short title, and number of the bill. (10 points)

  4. How did you find this bill (e.g., what search terms did you use)?(10 points)

  5. Provide a brief summary of the proposed legislation. What is its purpose?(20 points)

  6. What is the current status of the bill?(10 points)

I have opened the official website of congress.gov, and then I searched for the bill in healthcare in the search section. I have particularly mentioned bill as that will distinguish between a bill and a resolution. After pressing the search button, a number of bills came forward, among which I have selected the third bill “Introduction of the Insular Area Medicaid Parity Act”.
The bill is regarding the disparity in the Medicaid program, which does not cover all the Americans. There are many states, such as Northern Mariana Island, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Island, which are subjected to the hard-statutory limit on the federal Medicaid support. This cap on the Medicaid will lead to less availability of preventive care and treatment to the poorest Americans.
