The Issue and Need of Advocacy
Obesity, especially at childhood level, is one of the major issues that Australian population has confronted over the past two decades.
Australian government has launched various policies and intervention programs to help people know more about how to take preventive measures against it.
The problem of obesity has grown over the last two decades; almost one out of three persons living in nation is obese, if observed by clinical parameters. Obesity brings in several other issues with it like diabetes, hypertension and several other unwanted diseases to appear in the life of individual. What makes this a typical issue is that people do not know about the preventive measures that they can take or they do not wish to take. The Australian National Preventive Health Agency is one of the initiatives taken by government that shows how this widespread issue can be prevented.
